  1. These resources are awesome! Thanks so much for taking the time to make this secret archive.
Your blog on writing is probably the best writing blog I’ve come across, and it’s packed with solid advice.
I’m writing a YA sci-fi novel at the moment, and all your advice is going into my writing. I’m hoping to get it published, but *if* it does, I’ll make sure to mention your website in the Acknowledgments!

I love your Agent Submission Tracker, as well as the guide to creating evil villains. I need one of those in my story, so I’m getting to work on that character right away.

Well done Kaitlin, and thanks for this truly epic blog!

    1. Aww *blushes* I’m so honored that you think so! And I would be extremely honored if you mentioned my blog in your book’s acknowledgements! Thanks so much for reading it ^.^ Best of luck with all your writings!

  2. Thanks so much for the feedback, everyone! I’m so glad to see you guys are as excited about these free resources as I am 😀 Happy writing!

  3. There is some great stuff here, but can I make a great big ‘ask’?

I’d love to see a ‘World Builder’ here for people working on Fantasy or Sci-Fi; a worksheet similar to a Character Sheet, but with the elements a writer needs to know about a non-traditional or non-human culture (like elves, or dwarves).

Thanks for all the work you put in. It really helps us ‘wanna-be’s’ and ‘not-there-yet’s’.

    1. Hi Chrys! Thanks so much for your ask 😀 That’s definitely something I want to work on since I’m a Fantasy writer myself. I hope to have something like that soon, and a post to go along with it 🙂 Thanks so much for reading, and keep up all the awesome work with your writing!

  4. Wow, this looks very nice! Probably writing will forever be just a hobby to me, but I dream about the day I write fantasy books for my job… Actually, when reading the “how to make villain” -thing, I get an idea to the hero and villain of my first story (the world is not ready yet, but I writed my ideas to the back of some school paper)…

My English is not best (my first language is Finnish), so I just hope you understood my comment and I didn’t look too stupid…

    1. Hi Miuku, thanks for your comment! That’s so awesome that you’re bilingual, your English is very good! I’m glad the villain ebook was able to give you an idea for your story 🙂 Keep writing and you never know–your hobby might turn into your job!

  5. These are so incredibly helpful. Although I’m going to use the Agent-Submission-Tracker for general outreach to influencers too, not only to agents. Thanks so much!

  6. I love these and I look forward to more! Writing my plot and timeline can stressful for me, I always just go with my gut and now I have to plan haha (: Anymore tips and sheets are very appreciated!

  7. This stuff is amazing! It has really helped me and my sister with our writing.
Thank you so much! Your blog is awesome!!

  8. Thanks for all of these guides, Kaitlin! I’ve been writing for quite some time but I know there’s always room for improvement, and your guides appear to be the treasure trove I can use to do just that!

My first manuscript is complete (fictional romance) and I’m currently in the editing phase (LOVE the writing phase, NOT so much the editing!!!). I recently sent out copies of my manuscript to a few, select group of people and I’ve received back some AMAZING tips and suggestions on how to make it better!

My 2nd novel is about 1/3 complete (I always get new ideas while I’m in the midst of a current project!). The storyline, first and last chapters are complete for my 3rd novel, and the outline is complete for #4. Oh, how I WISH I could afford an editor so I could just WRITE, WRITE, WRITE!!! 😉

Best of luck and continued success with your blog and your OWN writing, Kaitlin!

    1. Thank you so much for these kind words, Jace! It’s always so encouraging for me to see that my efforts are paying off and helping you to learn! That’s awesome that you’re sharing your work with others to help develop it, I tried this myself for the first time with my current novel and it really is incredibly helpful! I wish you the best with all of your stories, it sounds like you’ve got a great collection coming along there 😉

  9. Your ebook is AMAZING. I adored it! I really love how you made references to popular stories and movies/tv shows throughout as well, it really made understanding exactly what you meant so much easier. You’ve taught me so much and I’ve only been on here for a few days! Thank you soooooo much!

    1. Aww thanks so much, Victoria! I’m so glad all the information in the ebook “clicked” for you! I know from the point of view of a learner it’s always so helpful to have examples of new concepts so I try to include some whenever possible 😉

  10. I just stumbled upon your blog and am quite impressed. These ‘secret’ worksheets/organizers surely will be helpful. I copied them off and am compiling them in a notebook. I attend a writer’s group and will be sure to recommend your blog to them! Thanks so much for sharing all these excellent ideas!

  11. Hey, I’d like to congratulate you on your first published book! That’s amazing! I’ll be sure to read it when the first chance arises! You really are an inspiration to all the people on this site because of how you’re helping us out and you published your work. Thank you so much for this amazing site and keep writing!
